everybody has an arch nemesis

Listen I know that I am 26 years old and that my undergrad years were three years ago, let's get that straight. But you know what? I'm taking my moment. Sure, apologies have been made but when somebody makes your life hell, you don't tend to wish them well - you do your best to the let the grudge go and move on with it. We can all move on and rise above our past, but we all have an arch nemesis that causes extreme eye-rolling upon mention of their name. I found out that mine is living in the same metroplex as I am and acting with the prestigious Shakespeare company in the area, and I'll say it - it's annoying and it stings a little.
However . . . this afternoon in the fun-filled green room, while getting ready for the best show I've ever been in, a review of her performance was brought up:
(DP)... is also lacking something as Desdemona: strength.
Her portrayal is too needy, bordering on whiny.
No wonder the Big O is suspicious.
- Fort Worth Star-Telegram
So once again, I am well aware that I am 26 years old. I am well aware that undergrad is over, but sometimes things make your heart smile. So sue me.

an embarrassing conversation with myself:

This is going to take some exposition, but whatever I'm talking to Cyber and he won't mind. There is this demon called facebook. I joined it, not as myself, but as a marketing tool for my job. However I use the account to of course do a little thing I like to call myspace stalking, but this time, it's facebook stalking.
I joined this monster without any knowledge of how it functions. Apparently there is a "poke" function where you "poke" someone and they have the opportunity to poke you back. I befriended a man this weekend who is criminally dreamy, he is on facebook, I befriended him 1) so that he may know what is going on with my drama department and audition and 2) so that I may facebook stalk in my spare time. I sent him a message in the friend request that it was me, he accepted - and then poked me. On a split second decision, I decided to poke him back - now he has poked me again. Now, just how long is the poking supposed to go on? If this were real I would have a bruise by now. And just how many girls are you poking sir?

heebie jeebies

Ok, so I work at a private school that was built around 1958. Being an old school, there are virtually fireplaces in every single room. My room, where I teach 4 and 5 year olds, has a fireplace. Lately there have been some bees in my room, and around nap time, they all start dying by the window near the fireplace. Today a child in my class pointed out what you see to the left, which is in fact on the chimney of my classroom. A swarm! As a gal who has had an intense fear of the movie Candyman, let's just say it has been an extremely unnerving day.

Weddings tend to cause reflection

My question is do you buy a "love" key chain and hold it and rub it everyday to send messages to the universe that you want to find love. Or does love come when you don't look for it? Or is it a crap shoot and love just happens when it is supposed to happen, no matter how bad you want it or don't want it? Anyway, I want cupcakes if I am ever blessed enough to be married. And, for the record if I was ever blessed enough to find some one worth marrying, I would hold that union in the highest honor.

A review

MTV Movie Awards, let's review:

1. I've never seen so many people in one room have a tickle in their nose and have to constantly scratch or rub their nose. Hmmmmm.

2. In a world where the new gang of comedians from the Judd Apatow movies seem to be the only game in town, it was nice to see some classics show their faces. Seeing a Wayne's World skit was like coming home.

3. I am officially out of touch with the young crowd, in the best fight and best kiss categories I knew one out of each category. The nominees I knew didn't win, so I had no clue who was taking home the popcorn, but the young folks in the audience screamed their heads off with recognition and admiration - note to self, I am in fact 26 years old.

4. We all know how the Movie Awards work, you know who wins by who is in the audience. Simple. Not this year folks. First, an award went to an obviously absent Johnny Depp. Then, the audience turns to the big screen expecting an "I'm working on a movie in Toronto but thanks for the award" message. But no, suddenly Johnny Depp walks out like a complete bad ass to accept his award, shocking the audience and bringing them to their feet.
