I love the lady who owns the Jazzercise franchise that I attend. Every time I get the privilege to go to one of her classes, she turns the whole session into an inspirational/therapeutic conversation as we jump around and shake what our mamas gave us. I always leave soaring and to boot the way she dances is the way I love to Jazzercise - like we are having our own personal dance recital.
I finally got measured by her today and that 15 minutes changed my entire outlook on myself and my current mission. She said I am the perfect age to make big changes and that I have a great body type to loose weight, that I can have a rocking bod because I've got a long torso and long legs. It doesn't even have to be true, she said it to me and I am taking it, sticking it in my pocket and running with it. She also has told me on several occasions that when she saw me dance she knew I was a future instructor, hello? I love her!
I went into to class and I felt taller, leaner and I worked it out. It feels really good to have someone take the time to change your day like that, I wish everyone had a Darlene.

new beginnings

I truly love this time of year. New Year's resolutions don't have the greatest track record but people make them, whether they announce them to a whole dinner party or just say them quietly to themselves before they fall asleep. It is such an invigorating time of year, with the exercising and the organizing and the fresh new recipes being attempted in sparkling lemon scented kitchens. No one is perfect and everyone gets cranky, but for this one time of year I think we all agree to give it an honest try. It's kind of beautiful, because even though we are fresh off the end of the year - when things get so crazy that in the end we all just say suck it, fuck it, lick it, eat it, snort it - here we are fresh and shiny for the new year.

I thought that I needed to be nice in the new year, but then I remembered something a wise and beautiful friend shared with me many years ago, "there's difference between nice and good." I've now come to the conclusion that my resolution to be nice would really be a pointless act considering it would be wasted on people who aren't necessarily good. So I'll just be run of the mill with the rest of the world and resolve to work out more.

And Ladies and Gents, I do believe it's theme time . . .
Mine: Work hard, play hard. (simple and we've seen it on the list before but trust me, it applies.)

I think this is a great new product, and I love a new product.
