I conquered this today.

Water parks. Open winding slides, closed winding slides, slides you ride with tubes and lazy winding rivers. I conquered all of this today. I did not however, conquer the steep three story slide in the far back of this picture. While I am trying new things, I am still a work in progress and steep slides were not on my list today.

Who knew Denton had such joyous adventures to offer?

summertime

I know it is still May and therefore it is technically Spring, but whatever - it's summertime to me! I'm really pumped, let's review why:

• Sunkist is coming to D-town in four days. We have not seen each other in 17 months and this sleepy little town doesn't know what it is in for.
• It's going to be hot as hell here in the plains of Texas, but as you may have read earlier - I've got a swimsuit.
• I got a job (!) working everyday with four year olds at a private school's summer camp; every week has a theme like camping, or circus, or the solar system to which I have to make connections to with my "lesson plans". It is a total granola school, that opened in 1958, apparently among thousands of schools of its kind because of a movement. I'm going to look it up.
• Because of this job I will be making enough money to go home for almost two weeks.
• SCOTLAND. I'm going to Scotland for two weeks, with my school to put on a play, to find ghosts (because apparently there is an entire city buried under ground that you can walk around in), and to traipse around a castle - which frankly, is a life long dream for me.

I'm guessing at this point we all know about this elusive $600 that the government is giving the country in the coming days/weeks. I've done my best to question it until I see it, but the other night Larry King referenced it and that made me feel like it's not a myth. I got the letter stating that it is coming, but I also know how to read and the letter said up to $600. Now, the purpose of this money is that we, the collective people of the nation, run out and spend it. Here is where I laugh at the fact that the "higher ups" know nothing about "us regular folks".

I know people, in fact I pride myself on it. There is not going to be a surge of spending you dumb asses, two things are going to take place: 1) Bills will be paid, because like me - people hear money is coming, they spend a little that they don't have and bank on that money to help out with rent or pay off Christmas, 2) People are going to save it or put it on a gas card. Just because $600 magically arrives in our mailboxes does not mean we suddenly think prices are lowering as well. I already know 20 people who will be putting that money towards international travel, you know, money outside the country where our dollar is sucking.

This is almost as amusing as when the commander in chief of our country dances to bide the time for the press.
