acting

I have found in the past few weeks, that acting is weird and stressful and I really don't know how much I like it. I like it when I'm on and rocking it, but when something throws me I do not recover well and then I get pissy with myself and whoever else I can blame. These are not good traits. It's amusing to me that I once thought acting would be my job.
Here's the thing, you should not choose a job that brings your weaknesses to the table. I get stressed and frustrated and I don't deal well with the unfamiliar. This is how I realized I should not be an event planner, am I good at it - yes, can I handle that stress once a week - no. Same thing goes for acting. Carrying a show, especially with the lottery of bad directors and scene partners out there, is a stress risk. Finding the right job is about figuring out your strengths and playing those up, why waste life doing a job that forces you to deal with your weaknesses every day?
I will say I am happy with my next project, I know it's a good director and I have a very small part. Less stress, more fun.

loving this lady

I'm only putting this up so that I can watch the first minute of it over and over it again, because this lady really makes me laugh. I realize this is from a trashy TV show, but I think we should be able to move beyond noting that by now, it's 2008.

Yes!

After an hour in my local department store, I finally found the one. The only swimsuit in the entire store that is right for me. And I bought it! The swimsuit is not sexy and my body is not perfect - but I feel great in my new swimsuit. Here is why:
1. It's a great color. It's a blue that Land's End might call an ocean and Print Shop might call a cyan. I never wear this blue because I don't like it with denim, but I love it as a swimsuit.
2. On this blue is white polka dots, that when paired with the halter top cut and cinching between the breasts - looks pretty 1950's fantastic.
3. The style of swimsuit gives me the confidence to walk around without wrapping myself in a towel the second I hit land. I may not love my body, but at least I won't be hiding my body.
Let's go to the water park Sunkist!

big love

We have attempted a turn of the century / gibson girl look for two shows now at my school. Both times no one could get their modern day hair to even come close to the thick waves and rises of a turn of the century hairstyle. For our current show, we had to order wigs that cost $300 because of this problem.
And yet, the women of the polygamist compound in Texas, in the midst of their worlds being shattered - all have textbook turn of the century hairstyles. How do they do it? I bet they use horse shampoo or something.

News is silly, that's why I watch The Soup.

Ok. The pregnant male is in the news this week. Miss Hawaiian Tropic is not a pregnant male, there is no medical miracle - it's a transgendered male who still has the womb parts of his former female body. And to make it Oprah worthy his wife is also transgendered. Or are they transsexual if parts are installed? I forget. Anyway, not a pregnant male! If anything it's sexual dyslexia.
Is news really that slow this week? Aren't we in a war and in the presidential race of our lives? Yes, but Britney's sheen is back in her hair and no politicians are doing the naughty, therefore Us Weekly needs someone to grace their cover?
